Activision wanted…

…to showcase the skills and unique personalities of the different characters in the new Destiny 2 game. (Warlock, Hunter and Titan).

Solution

We created a four-part video series in which we tasked Thomas Gray (comedian) to learn the skills required to become a Warlock, Hunter and Titan. This was all in preparation for his ultimate battle on the release of the game, which would involved him teaming up with Lady Leshurr (Warlock), Anthony Joshua (Titan), and Eric Dier (Hunter). 

In each video, Thomas was put through his paces in a series of training drills before facing a final challenge set by the celebrity, in order to achieve character status.

The fourth and final video saw the three characters and Thomas team up against four online challengers on the Destiny 2 game itself.

Insights

As well as the campaign reaching 25m people, Destiny 2 remained No.1 in the UK sales chart for the following three weeks.
